Wow On y va actually means “let’s go”.
Had absolutely no idea before one of my French learning sessions.
This was the title of the French textbooks I was using in high school.

Unlike now I was nonchalant about French then so I was largely unfamiliar with most of the grammatical structures.
So “On y va” came off as strange to me.
Now I know “On” is for “we” or “one”.
va is the conjugation of aller for “il”.
And y is a way to refer back to a place previously discussed.
But idiomatically it means, “Let’s go”,
